VECO announced their earnings last night and while the report beat estimates, the future outlook was down from estimates. This tanked the stock price today, VECO down -6.95(-24.1%).

Co issues downside guidance for Q3, sees EPS of ($0.09)-$0.09, excluding non-recurring items, vs. $0.39 Capital IQ Consensus Estimate; sees Q3 revs of $125-145 mln vs. $169.36 mln Capital IQ Consensus Estimate.

"Note: The revenue guidance range above does not include approximately $20-$25 million of deferred revenue relating to orders for Veeco's new high-productivity MOCVD systems that are expected to ship in the third quarter. We will recognize this revenue once the tools are installed and our customers place them into production, which we expect to occur in early 2018."
