If we are to enforce double standards then Reid's comments are ok. Trent Lott said some nice things about Strom Thurmond that were taken out of context and he was railroaded on that basis.

Reid deserves the same treatment as Lott because is is fair and equitable.

I didn't think that saying nice things about Thurmond were about anything, and the only thing about this that offends me is that democrats want to live under entirely different standards.
