Pat:

Before you buy.... what do you think of this. In recent rumors from varies articles including telechoice it looks like some orders for ADSL equipment will be made soon. The choice of line code SEEMS to be CAP.

The JPC group that went with the ALA DMT solution wants a 2nd half 1997 solution. GTE and USWEST want a 1Q97 solution and DMT is close, but not ready yet. I'm not sure of the time tables for BT. If its 1Q97 then I would guess CAP again.

Should one go with a WSTL in the short term, and AMTX after these first orders are announced. If I remember correctly WSTL was about 40-45 on a build-up from the possible order from the JPC. Once the JPC announced an agreement with ALA, WSTL dropped some 20 points to the 20-25 range. IFF WSTL gets some orders, I see them trading in the 40-45 range again. I was wrong on the JPC order... but I can't see how WSTL is going to miss some of these upcoming orders.

Now for those thinking of buying AMTX in the short term, should we wait until these first orders are announced or should we buy before they are announced? Will CAP orders help the group as a whole or just CAP vendors? At this time I'm holding both my WSTL and AMTX shares.

PS - I don't have any more money to place into the market. Just some food for thought for those that are thinking of buying... until later
