Most people don't even know what size engine is in their car. Even fewer people have a clue what type of gearing their transmission has, yet many, many people want & indeed buy sporty cars because they want performance, style, etc. The only reason folks might avoid Firestone tires these days is due to worldwide reports in all manner of media of deaths & an unusual number of severe accidents due to tread separation. BTW, this huge bout of media attention has also presented allegations that the Ford Explorer is an unstable vehicle that has a high incidence of roll overs. The last I heard, the Ford Explorer was still by far the #1 selling SUV.

Don is scamming the hypothesis that there is a sizable population of people who are aware of RMBS & the controversies surrounding the company............. and due to this, a sizable population is actively avoiding RMBS based PC's. IMO, he has either completely lost touch with reality, or he is actively trying to scam people on stock message boards & is staunchly defending his BS to attempt to maintain his credibility. Either way, his credibility is now highly questionable.

The RAM in a PC is similar in performance as the transmission is in a car. There is no doubt that far more people are knowledgeable about cars, engines & transmissions than PC's & the internal workings of PC's. Since the average Joe doesn't have a clue about their own transmission, what do these same people know about RAM in PC's????

Perhaps folks are brand conscious & buy Intel based PC's, but they don't really know what makes it work, let alone what different types of RAM are & how they impact performance. I doubt that there are many people worldwide that know diddly about RMBS & RDRAM to any significant extent. IMO, they buy based on what their budget will allow & they will reach for what they believe will give them the best overall performance. I submit that these people will do minimal research on PC's &little time will be spent on the various types of RAM. If anything, folks will learn that RDRAM is next generation RAM & that will induce them to buy, not avoid RDRAM.

However Don is pushing a scam that screams otherwise. He is persisting in defense of this position even after a number of replies have seriously destroyed his extremely weak hypothesis. This speaks volumes about Don & his credibility.

One thing I have found in the real world is that when people are ready to buy a PC & they have little technical knowledge, they seek out peers who do have some background. I have personally assisted many friends in making their purchase. In my total experience doing this, I have NEVER had one salesperson try to sway me away from a RMBS based PC......... not once did they ever speak negatively about RMBS or RDRAM............ yet this is the basis of Don's hypothesis.......... or is it just another scam on a stock message board?
