New Delhi | Jun 17, 2010

A Delhi court today remanded the parents of a 19-year-old girl and their 3 other relatives accused of murdering her along with her boyfriend to 14 days' judicial custody in the honour killing case.

Metropolitan Magistrate Aparna Swamy sent victim Asha's father Ashok Kumar Saini, mother Maya, uncle Om Prakash, aunt Kushboo and cousin Sanjeev to judicial custody till July one.

Ashok and Om Prakash were produced before the court after the end of their two days police remand.

The 3 other were arrested yesterday.

According to the police, the victim's family members had murdered Asha and Yogesh Kumar, 21, as they were opposed to her marrying the boy who belonged to a different caste.

Police alleged that the family had forced Asha to call Yogesh from his Gokulpuri residence and had physically tortured him and the girl for hours before killing them.

Asha and Yogesh were found murdered at her uncle's residence on street number-3 of Swaroop Nagar area on Monday morning and Om Prakash and other members of her family were untraceable after the incident.
