i'm a dell man, and i'll say that right off. <g3>

when i buy a dell, i buy service. i know the machine is good, and i know i get 24/7 tech support for the life of the machine. that's saying a mouthful. so i end up paying a few bucks more. they give a 3-yr warranty. the 1st yr. is next business day on-site repair if needed. i paid an extra $99 to extend that on-site feature for the full 3 yrs. that comes out to 13.5 cents a day for the technician to come to my location. money well spent in the event of a bad component or whatever.

a real quick ballpark figure on the system you've described (from one of the top manufacturers) would be around $1500 (+/- $100).

you haven't said which manufacturer, but i assumed that was on purpose.

good luck!

:)
