Tench,

For my applications I write code and I render a lot.. that is what I spend the vast majority of my time doing. Those are 2 areas where Athlon wins by a decent margin. Now I admit it's not a prototypical usage situation, but it IS *my* situation.

In the office we run a lot of software like HP HFSS, ADS, Sonnet em, etc. Those actually REALLY perform well on Athlon. So much so we are ordering a couple of LABS worth of Athlons as workstations going forward. (IBM has SWEET pricing for universities)
