Scumbria, re:Compaq just introduced their first Alpha product, after all. We all know Alpha's history of failures in the marketplace. Do you really think Compaq changes things? Maybe they'll provide an infusion of cash, but i don't think that was the problem in the 1st place. Intel is slowly and surely eating its way up the server/workstation food chain....About a year ago, analysts were predicting XEON would only capture the low-end enterprise computing. Now, they are saying the mid-range is vulnerable to SMP XEON chips, next year.... joey
