Russia is known to do unexpected things. It was several days ago - maybe a few weeks - since they got some Iranian drones, they liked them - and now they’re making their own.

During WWII the USSR lost a huge part of their air force, tanks, artillery and personnel in the first days of the war. They were able to move their factories away from the frontlines, beyond the Urals - and ended the war with more tanks than the rest of the planet combined. Their tanks were very plain - but very functional.

With an average life expectancy of a tank in the battlefield of maybe a couple of days, you better believe it that they didn’t worry about about building a fancy interior. They worried about having a good cannon, good controls, speed, strong armor, maneuverability… stuff like that.
