My two cents...

1) Nothing happens until after the November
elections.

2) If the democrats lose big in house and senate then
the party leadership will force Clinton to resign
..he keeps his pension and other bennies.. and
it gives Gore time to learn the job as Pres. and
run as the incumbent in 2000..

3) Republican strategests fear scenario (2) above
and are forced to hope Clinton fights; the impeachment
process if carried out to the end will occupy most of
the next two years with Clinton forced out in the end.
