I tried "One Click Trading" but it just can't compete with RealTick based brokers. It had a nasty habit of freezing at the most inopportune moments. But for that, it was a step up from the regular interface. Again, for real daytrading, direct access is the only way to go. Being able to choose the route makes the biggest difference in the world for those who really need instantaneous fills and confirmations (when two seconds feel like an eternity). It requires a data feed and some skill. But there are places that offer $10 commissions, and for very active traders that would more than make up for the data fee over WebStreet's commissions (unless you can actually afford 1000 shares of EBAY). Of course, far more people lose money than make it when the time frame is so short. So please don't think that I'm suggesting that anyone actually do it. The biggest beneficiaries are the brokers. Position trading, OTOH, offers a much better chance for regular people (the "public") to make money on the market.

Paul Kaz
