Glenn Greenwald
@ggreenwald

The regime of censorship being imposed on the internet – by a consortium of DC Dems, billionaire-funded "disinformation experts," the US Security State, and liberal employees of media corporations – is dangerously intensifying in ways I believe are not adequately understood...

twitter.com

Greenwald is a lefty, at time he even seems to support socialism (real socialism not just big government), but he's a huge supporter of free speech rights, and also the value of free speech (the idea that free and open discussion is valuable and should be encouraged not locked down, even in situations where locking it down doesn't involve the government and doesn't infringe on 1st amendment rights). He also is anti-woke and very willing to call out Dems when they spout BS.

In this case, since the government is involving itself, you do have a first amendment issue. If the government had never gotten involved, no members of congress pushing for social media to shut down "disinformation" in hearings, no appointed officials or non-appointed agents telling social media sites what should be shut down, then 1st amendment rights wouldn't be involved but the heavy-handed biased censorship would still be against the free speech as a value.
