Harari…. A guy who is super bright, well educated, who thinks hard, wrote several books, meditates 2 hours every day (and considers it to be part of his research) - indeed, this guy will get many things right. But — no children, seemingly aloof, with no strong connection to the real life around him, very rationalistic - he’s bound to get many things wrong.
What’s this business with the 2 hours of meditating daily - plus, annual lengthy stays in retreats? Meditations are not always a safe pastime - it can be a path towards self - brainwashing, self hypnosis.
Carl Jung went through a period in his life when he often traveled deep into his unconscious, saw it’s structure and had many fascinating visions. After that period subsided, he realized that he had enough material to keep him busy for the rest of his life - translating his new knowledge into a form useful to people.
His purpose was to help the process of individuation in his patients - and, through his writings, in others. He wanted to help them spend their lives becoming more of who they really are. More integrated with their unconscious and able to draw on its energy - while remaining rational and realistic.
So, Jung’s attitude was constructive and kind of practical. What is it that Harari wants?
Does he enjoy talking to the narcissistic Illuminati at Davos? Does he like to feel relevant and influential while dazzling the rich and the mighty with the fruits of his superior intellect?
Klaus Schwab likes him - Harari comes up with ideas and structures that Schwab couldn’t think of himself. So, Harari is his useful thinker, and he promotes him. Looks like they both need each other.
The question is - is there any use to the rest of us from either of them?
……..
Too much meditation as a no-brainer… lol. Musk is a smart guy. |
