The only shooting war Ukraine ever fought - as an independent nation - was against their own ethnic Russian citizens. True, Ukrainians are part of the Russian / Soviet war fighting culture, and they all grew up on the same WWII movies and stories.

But still, Mano a Mano, Ukraine can’t win against Russia. What’s not clear as yet, is - Can Russia win against Ukraine which is trained, funded and equipped, to no limit, by the US - and all of Western Europe?

I think negotiations at this point are not possible — Russia and the West live in different universes. Russia is confident that they control the events and are winning. The West thinks that Russia is in terrible disarray, and is hopelessly losing.

And… they’ll never agree which view corresponds to the truth.

That being the case, what can they negotiate?
