You obviously didn't know that USA/UK/Ukraine were planning to conquer Russia and take back Crimea. The attack had been on since 2014, with casualties in the eastern provinces in the tens of thousands. What is it with those murderous countries beginning with U? USA, UK, Ukraine, Uganda [Idi Amin], - I don't know about Uruguay, UAE, Uzbekistan. Maybe if they changed their names to something nice they wouldn't be so violent.

The independent countries of eastern Ukraine had called for help from Russia who were happy to oblige. Just as USA has so many times gone to military support for various groups in various countries who declared that they were in charge. For example most recently USA invaded Syria. Presumably you think that "aggressor" action against a sovereign country was hunky dory and met your legalistic legalese for Rightful Action against Bad Guys - backing ISIS, AlQaeda, whoever was okay there, apparently.
