A lot of people don't realize that we've occupied northeastern Syria. Originally to fight ISIS terrorists and now to protect the Kurds and Christian populations that live there ostensibly from the Syrian government and their allies, the Russians. We're even building more bases and military outposts there -- the total is up to 28 right now.

Kinda sounds familiar, right?
