Go into the Burger King on the Champs Elysees and you will see 95% Euros LOL and when I was in Beijing McDonalds 99.25% of the patrons were Chinese probably because I'm only 25% Chinese ;o) McDonalds meal was ridiculously expensive compared to local fare. Of course In France that's likely not the case, it might even be cheaper. I do know that I found Pizza Hut dear in England.

I think MacDonals is just a bubble deflating now. Too much saturation coming home to roost and those foreign excursions will lose their appeal more rapidly as it's popularity in the NA wanes..

They are not known for their innovation. Same could have been said of the Japanese in the early 60's. Things change. The day will come when Cisco isn't needed. History has shown this already. I remember thinking as a kid (46 now) when I got a toy stamped made in Hong Kong or Made in Japan... what crap. Then I remember in my late teens early 20's when I'd sidle up beside a Japanese car in my 4 barrel Chev... what crap...

simply because they have better products, Small business like the ones I deal with 5-50 users are gladly throwing away their Windows NT servers and opting for Linux. Cheap and in many cases much easier to use. Granted Windows still rules the desktop for now. Gates is smart at many things but in marketing he was pure genius. Times change though.

INTC... many desktops at my customers now are running AMD and seems to be the replacement option of choice. For the task (typically client server or telnet access to a server and some MS Office stuff) they are more cost effective. Yes ultra power users still want Intel but they aren't the majority.

US made movies and television for the simple reason that the production But not everyone wants only American content though. Don't forget American movies are <foreign films to many ;o) Do some research on the Indian film industry. Unlikely the films would appeal to you but you're likely not Indian eh! They make a lot of coin.

They will buy starbucks All of these things are cool and new to foreign folk but as people mature as developed nation they want their own 'stuff' too. OTOH man was I happy to find one.

Don't know about you but I try to stay out of tunnels.
