TP and Dan,

I always liked the Hindu (I think) story that God was bored and lonely so he/she/it became the universe so he/she/it could play hide and seek with her/him/itself. If you look at the Big Bang as God becoming the universe it even fits what we observe. Of course I can see no way to put this theory to a test.
