Convergence is dead. Long live convergence.
Maybe it's not NT's numbers, but the T announcement that really put the kaibash on this puppy.
I know NT does not derive a large part of revenues from T, but investors have been buying into the notion that convergence of telephony, data, and entertainment such as video-on-demand would increase demand for fat pipes and wicked fast switches. T's break-up (breakdown?) is, in a sense, a bet against convergence (what they did, not what they said).
Having said that I still think Armstrong is wrong and convergence will continue. NT under 50 was a deal in April, again it was a deal under 50 in June, and it's a deal under 50 now. Just IMHO. Best of luck to all.
