Paul, I agree with most of your MMX "Venting."
The first MMXes will be a joke, but by next year, they'll be able to do high(er)-end multimedia. But then, there are two efforts for some really intense graphics--"Talisman," from Microsoft. Supposedly, this will render graphics comparable to "Toy Story." And INTC is working on something with Lockheed (I think it's Lockheed. Anyway, it's one of those defense companies--sorry, memory fails me in my old age).
Intel is a smart company, who knows how to use PR to hurt the competition (no one does it better than MSFT, though), which is why they're also great investments! |
