Networking question for the thread:

I have a computer which was on a client to a NT network. I am trying to set it up on my home network which does not use a server. When I boot up it still asks for my password. If I type it in I get "no domain server available to validate password...." window. Then it goes to the desktop. From there when I click on network neighborhood it shows the computer and entire network icon in the window. If I click on Entire Network I get the workgroup to show up. I click on the workgroup and it shows the computer id but no others.

The same thing happens if i just cancel out of the original bootup password. The computer then goes to desktop......

I have set up the network configuration according to this sites directions: hardwarecentral.com

I do have the computers linked to a hub. The hub has lights indicating connection per each line. The line which is connected to the computer which is apparently causing the problems does not light up.

Any ideas on how to correct this?

thanks
david
