You are proving my point. The judge himself did not put them in jail. The judge gave the order to federal marshals, who did it. And who has ultimate authority over federal marshals? 1957: The Supreme Court ordered school desegregation. There was a lot of resistance. President Eisenhower ordered the 101st Airborne to Little Rock, Arkansas. The soldiers stood in classrooms and on street corners, guns in hand, and enforced the Court’s decision. My point is, Eisenhower didn’t have to do that. He could have found 50 plausible excuses for doing nothing. If so, the Court could do nothing. That has happened many times, and it could easily happen again.
