As for determining whether Saddam had any remnants of WMDs at all, they chose to leave that to the UN inspectors, instead of foolishly invading Iraq and getting their own soldiers killed and maimed by the thousands and tens of thousands, spending money by the hundreds of billions and creating more enemies by the hundreds of thousands, if not millions.
