There's a third alternative, which is that the product mix is shifting toward higher value chips.

My guess would be a combination of higher value chips, particularly in telecom, and production held back to boost prices, particularly in memory.

FWIW, rising ASPs is the normal state of affairs. The last three years of declining ASPs has been extremely unusual.
