I recently moved and did a huge amount of downsizing and told my 20 something son he has got it right

He is a minimalist nearly everything he owns is digitized. No books LPs. video tapes furniture tons of clothes etc...

I recommend anyone in their 60's and is married that they begin evaluating what they need at this point in their life and start downsizing so you don't leave the task to your spouse or children.

My father did it to me when he died and I had to dispose with so much which meant a lot to him but had little meaning to me. It is painful.
