My apologies for not reporting freezing Netscape solution.

There are two software solutions I tried. One or both could have been solution.

A faulty Bookmarks.htm file or the profile file will cause Netscape to freeze. The solution is to use windows Explorer to rename the old bookmarks.htm file to bookmarks.old / the solution with profile is to create a new profile and use that (its created through Start/ Programs/ Netscape/ Utilities/ User profile manager..).

When the program starts it notes the missing bookmarks and creates a new one. One can attempt to import the old bookmarks but that only froze my re-do and I imported an older but stable version from a few months ago.

That's all it was.. I then upgraded from 4.5 to 4.7 and it works just fine.

I wish to thank all here for your ready and generous help.

Jim
