From the price action in the bond pit the last several days it is apparent that the bond market lacks a strong conviction on Fed policy either way (which is reflected in the Eurodollar contracts). Being the beginning of the year, tommorrows NFP number gains additional importance due to the urgency of bond market players to put on positions after end of year squaring. Inflation continues to be benign, but the market should rightly be concerned about the consistent spike in energy prices over the last several months. If NFP confirms increasing economic strength, the market will begin pricing in 25 bp or even 50 bp before the end of the first/early second quarter. Could represent another fixed income head fake, but as represented by many of the Wall Street strategists this is the fear.

Motorola just reported, not as strong as rumored.

Long Term Intel Bull and Holder, but worried about profit taking risk.
