OT~~Scott~ The President does not "create jobs" nor does he "time the market"....as you should know. If our government continues to tax the people who have major money, and those same people are the ones that help provide capital to create new companies and ventures, therefore jobs, then we will continue to have a downturn. Ask ANY recruitment firm worthy of the name. They will know!!! Jobs are simply not created from thin air.

Where do you think the new jobs are coming from, and how will they get here? NO President has ever "created jobs."

Personally, I think that Americans by and large are maybe not "optimistic" as you said, but rather more "realistic" than we have been in a long time.

And "war mongering" is a fairly offensive term, IMHO. Obviously, a journey through history and some of the sacrifices our parents and their parents have made so that we can live in freedom and plenty needs to be revisited.

Some may be young enough they don't remember blackout curtains, or not talking if outside at night, or seeing news at the movies once a week, not every minute on internet, or reading about the soldiers who were fighting battles for WWII or Korea...Ernie Pyle comes to mind. Some of us remember many things about more difficult times.

One further thing....IF we have another 9-11 event in this country, or worse, what do you think will happen to the economy? What do you think people would be saying if this Administration, or any other for that matter, just continued ignoring attacks??? We had been attacked several times in the last ten years. We "just" lost hundreds of people, not thousands of people. So not much was done. Are you willing to chance that again? I for one, am not!

Americans of every stripe should be able to see clearly that we MUST do everything to protect ourselves, so we can go about our daily business.

Don't forget who said that their mission was to destroy the Americans and their society!!! Don't forget their words for one single minute!!!

Optimism in this country is at VERY LOW levels...

And this is directly impacting our country's ability to pull out of a severe economic downturn...War mongering has forced consumers and businesses to become increasingly cautious at just the wrong time.
