No kidding... digital imaging has become some big STUFF for Kodak and other major players in the imaging business.

Also- The 9-11-96 WSJ had an article about Kodak's emphasis on digital imaging right next to the article that announced IO's deal w/ Matsushita. Here's a few excerpts:
"...In repostioning the (Professional & Printing Imaging division, its second largest) , Kodak also is trying to emphasize its digital technology,...we must use digital to grow the market place... Kodak...prizes the professional market as a trend-setter and showcase for technical prowess that can be later adapted for general consumers... its the company's largest business ($6.8 billion).

And.. let's not forget- this type of tech stuff is good for education too!
