2/04/00 - Hong Kong - Microsoft Offers Windows 2000 Prizes 02/02/00



HONG KONG, CHINA, 2000 FEB 2 (Newsbytes) -- By Staff, IT Daily. Microsoft Hong Kong
[NASDAQ:MSFT] this week announced a competition to find the SAR's fastest installers of its new
Windows 2000 Professional operating system.

The winners will each be awarded a Compaq Aero 1560 notebook and a free upgrade to Windows 2000.

A limited stock of free Windows 2000 Release Candidate 2 (RC2) CD-ROMs will be made available for
testing and evaluation from Feb. 10 to Feb. 18.

Details of the contest and instructions for collecting the CDs will be posted at Microsoft Hong Kong's Web
site at microsoft.com .

From Feb. 21, users can register via the site for the program, called "Show Me Your Windows," by
participating in a Windows 2000 quiz. The first 300 users to register will be eligible for a free upgrade to
Windows 2000. To qualify, they must show off their know- how by installing the operating system on
their own laptop computers at the Microsoft Windows 2000 Solutions Fair to be held on Mar. 3 at the
Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.

The six who complete the fastest installations will receive a Compaq notebook. The less speedy
competitors will participate in a lucky draw with the chance to win a coupon offering up to 50 percent off
the purchase price of Windows 2000 Professional.
