THAT'S HOW I'D DO IT By Cori Dauber
I've written before that we have to begin to at least develop a vocabulary for discussing one of the most critical questions for this war: how do we deal with an enemy who understands completely that our societies include communities of innocent people within which he can blend successfully?
Simply ignoring the problem is not an option.
As an example, organizations representing colleges and universities have complained that increased scrutiny of applications for student visa have meant real hardships for thousands of foreign students and a real pain in the neck for the schools.
Too God damn bad, pardon my language.
I'm sure they speak out of concern for their innocent students, whose education is being disrupted.
But they have to be willing to acknowledge that, not only is a student visa an excellent way to infiltrate this country, so is being a student.
In fact, it's perfect. College towns are enormously multicultural, so no one blinks an eye when someone shows up with a thick accent, even if their English is poor. Face it, we're all nuts, so you're behavior would have to be pretty out there before it caught anyone's attention. And the values tend to be pretty much live and let live and for God's sake keep the government out of it, so no one would call the cops even if they did notice something.
Am I telling someone something they don't know?
Hardly. Remember those reports on the financial buildings in Jersey?
Well guess how the reconn was done.http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,135418,00.html |
