Her lead is nearly entirely attributable to her lead among women (20 point lead among women).

No doubt the fortuitous fact that she is a woman running against two males helps her in that regard. <g>

(Any additional gloss on her status as front-runner can likely be credited to the carefully crafted message of 'inevitability' that has support moving to whomever the front-runner is perceived to be. The exact same political calculus that produced the 'inevitable winner' Kerry.... :-)

At this early stage, fund raising is still the most significant indicator for the appeal of the various candidates --- and there Barak has out raised her in donations, and among the also important metric of 'NUMBER of contributors'. The number of people who have given to his campaign is nearly triple the number that has given to Hil's... but she has more of the old Dem, inside-the-beltway, big-ticket establishment types behind her.

(PS --- as far as that 'inevitability' thing her campaign is always pushing... I take it as a contrary indicator the fact that she seems to be the candidate most of the G.O.P. has been salivating to run against for years.... :-)
