Putin's election results aren't really relevant to the subject we were talking about, but apparently you want to talk about them so fine.

He was elected in a landslide partially because earlier in his time in power things improved in Russia (he might have contributed a small amount to that but mostly it was changes in oil prices, more export of gas and other items esp. to Europe and more foreign investment, at least he didn't get in the way of positive change for Russia back then like he is now), and partially because he controls the media in Russia and arrests, assassinates or drives out of the country potential rivals.

Who helped installed him (Zelensky) - The Ukranian people, in elections that are far more free and fair than in Russia.
