russ,

"It doesn't matter who votes, it matters who counts the votes."

I'm not so concerned about your vote as I am about the fact that Walden O'Dell, the CEO of Diebold and the head of the Bush/Cheney 2004 campaign in Ohio, happens to be a Bush Pioneer (or Ranger?) who is on record as saying that he'd "deliver Ohio to Bush in 2004".

While one might normally consider this mere puffery, in O'Dell's case there is reason to be alarmed. His Diebold Corp. is one of the three major manufacturers of electronic voting equipment. His machines are, to put it politely, junk. Of the seven lines of business that Diebold is in today, only one doesn't provide an auditable paper trail. Guess which one.

Thanks for doubting George Bush. But what we really need to doubt is the machinery that made a bunco artist playing the Big Con (as is George Bush) possible.

*******
I'm feeling lucky, any numerology buffs out there got a comment on the salutory effects of a grub like "7777". Sure trumps trip sixes, eh?
