Buying oportunity ??? Selling oportunity??? Having made some change and lost some dollars this past year on the semi-equipment group I embarked on I better strategy for AMAT.

Every month I write a covered call on amat, where the stock price and the premium equal at least l2%. If Amat rallies between now and the end of the month I'd be inclined to write a May 75. If it falls to 62 or 63 I'll write a May 65 or 70. If the stock gets called away I simply buy the missing shares and repeat the process.

The best call writes are AMAT, DELL, KLIC, ETEC, ASYT and CYMER. I bought ETEC Friday (sold it a few days ago). Wrote a covered call for a May 30 with a limit of 4 GTC. If this process is repeated on a monthly basis, the fears of wheather we are on an upward step, downward step or a lateral step becomes less important.

When in doubt, take the money and run.

On the AMAT thread as well as the DELL thread there is a huge amount of financial greed that I find worrisome. Near as I can tell, if your not sleeping in the rain, your woman still talks to you, and your friends are happy to see you, you have most of the benfits bestowed upon the human race.

If anyone is interested I will post what I feel are the best option writes for the above mentioned stocks for the month of May. If not I'll grab beer, a good cigar and whoever walks past my desk. What else is there to do on a Sunday afternoon? (vbg)

Hope you all have good week.

Jerome
