I didn't hear the debate, so I guess that Kerry was wanting to point out the hypocrisy in the Republican camp [giggle] while pointing out how normal families handle people of whatever bent they get in the great lottery of life.

So I suppose he was complimenting Cheney on a jolly good show with his own daughter, while pointing out the foaming at the mouth madness of the Rabid Republican Religious Right.

It seems crazy to have homosexuality an issue in a USA presidential campaign. Weird! Keep politicians out of the bedroom say I. What's with those people who want to peer into other people's lives and tell them how to run their own business?

We know it's the Rabid Republicans who make it an issue. Of course John Kerry needs to defend citizens in the face of weird Republicans. Pointing out Cheney's daughter, the ring-master of Republicans himself, is perfectly sensible and reasonable.

Look, even Jesus was obviously a homosexual, so it's a bit much for the religious people to come over all weird about what is obviously a common human attribute. Heterosexuals don't "choose" to be heterosexual. You just are it, from when you first get belted over the head for trying to kiss the heart-throb in play-school. Homosexuals obviously just are it too.

They don't choose a whole lot of hassle, drama, problems and stress for the fun of it. Though I'm sure some drama queens find it offers a bit of status and social positioning and maybe even cash-flow to indulge the idea somewhat if they are somewhat inclined. Women especially seem to find it somewhat 'cool' to go AWOL. I don't blame them - if I was a woman I'd be a lesbian too; men are hideous creatures.
