Well, given that the Islamic world appears to be perfectly happy to let Americans believe that bin Laden, the World Trade Towers attackers, the Iranian mullahs, stoning to death women who are caught in adultery, and the Palestinian suicide bombers are an accurate embodiment of Islamic belief, I'm surprised that there are more than a handful of Americans who respect Arab/Islamic values.

An interesting aside: if the same poll were taken among fundamentalist evangelical Americans, I wonder how many of them would say that "Americans respect fundamentalist evangelical Christianity"?

I mean, just look at this board, and ask how many people here respect the values of Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell? A lot fewer than 12%, I'll bet!
