Tampa Airport Chooses Oracle(R) Public
Sector Financials

PR Newswire - July 08, 1998 08:16

Aviation Authority Selects Integrated Solution of Oracle, Decision Support
Technologies

TAMPA, Fla., July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Oracle Corp. (Nasdaq: ORCL)
today announced that the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority
(HCAA) has selected Oracle(R) Public Sector Financials applications to
help run operations at Tampa International Airport. The Aviation Authority
awarded contracts to Oracle and Decision Support Technologies (DST),
Inc., for Oracle's integrated airport solution, which includes Oracle Public
Sector Financials and DST's Airport Business Toolbox(TM).

Oracle's solution for Tampa International Airport is based on tight
integration between the Airport Business Toolbox and Oracle Public
Sector Financials, which includes Oracle Public Sector General Ledger,
Oracle Public Sector Receivables, Oracle Public Sector Payables, and
Oracle Public Sector Purchasing. Oracle and DST were selected over
KPMG and Ross Systems, Inc.

The Tampa project represents the first U.S.-based implementation of
Oracle's airports solution that contains Oracle and DST products in an
integrated team approach.

Instant, Accurate Data

The HCAA sought a more robust, user-friendly system to replace a legacy
system previously installed in 1983. The Aviation Authority's new
Oracle/DST solution will expand its user base to 25 concurrent users and
give accessibility to more than 100 users. It will provide real-time, accurate
data, allowing for online requisitioning and approvals. Future plans include
bar coding store-room inventory and the possible use of Oracle Assets
and Oracle Grants Management application modules.

Additionally, HCAA will use Oracle Project Costing, Oracle Inventory,
Oracle Human Resources, Oracle Payroll, and Oracle Alert(R)
applications; the Oracle Discoverer(TM) ad-hoc query tool; and the
Oracle database server. The Aviation Authority also will use Oracle
Consulting(SM) and Education services in the project, which includes
Arthur Andersen Business Consulting.

DST's Airport Business Toolbox Release 3.2.2 includes modules for
Agreement Management, Company/Contact Management, Billing and
Invoicing, Airport Statistics, Utility Management, Space Management,
Tenant Alteration Tracking, and Concession Sales Tracking. DST is based
in Orlando, Fla.

HCAA operates four airports in the Tampa area. Its flagship, Tampa
International Airport, is ranked 29th in the world in passenger volume,
according to Airports Council International-North America. Acclaimed by
national and foreign news media as one of the most beautiful, functional
airport terminals in the world, the Tampa airport features a combination of
terminal rooftop auto parking, escalators and a "People Mover" system
ensuring passengers that their airplane boarding gate is never far from their
ground transportation.

"Oracle gave us the total solution," said Sharon Elefterion, HCAA director
of Administration and project manager. "Oracle's financial system is
extremely flexible. We can generate reports and acquire data in the format
we need to use it. It had the best fit with how we wanted to use the
system."

"Tampa International Airport and the Hillsborough County Aviation
Authority will be able to make more timely, efficient use of financial data by
using Oracle Public Sector Financials," said Jay Nussbaum, senior vice
president and general manager of Oracle, Government, Education &
Health. "The Oracle-DST solution is ideally tailored to support the unique
functionality required by airports in managing the differing types of
agreements with tenants and in integrating this data, as well as critical
financial and human resources information into an enterprise-wide airport
administration system."
