Back on the rightsizing thought. It seems to me based on memory alone that the semi-equips are ahead this time in that game. All the major ones (AMAT, NVLS, KLAC) seem to have managed the situation exceptionally well. But all I read are articles and opinions harping on the terrible shape of the business. And the awful sentiment laden articles go on and on on that subject. Articles which miss any relevant point more than 5 minutes away.

Yet they never mention that the above companies have been currently sized for slight profit in the "terrible" environment. That leaves a huge profit upside when Revenues return. I mean some people will be head scratching about how AMAT did a 25 cent quarter, or KLAC did a 60 cent quarter soon enough. They did it by the steps that were taken over the last year. And still the price trades near the current cycle lows? Amazing. Or zero confidence that the US economy will turn.
