REDSTATE - More Polling By: Erick · Section: Election 2004

In addition to Zogby having Bush up by four for the second day in a row, there are other polls out there worth ignoring.
Newsweek clearly has good news for the President. How do I know? Because they have spent forever using likely voter numbers, but now that they have the President trouncing Kerry 50-44 among likely voters, they have decided that the race is too close to call because among registered voters, Bush leads Kerry 48 to 47 (48-46-1 with Nader included).

In Rasmussen's daily tracking poll, the race is 48-46 in Bush's favor.

All of this really means the race is basically tied and Bush has halted Kerry's momentum. The problem now is that the race is stagnant and someone needs to pick up the momentum.

Perhaps Kerry will now regret the Mary Cheney comment, if not the soccer photo-op. Interestingly, the Newsweek poll shows Bush leading among women and Kerry among men. That, in and of itself, seems odd. If, however, it is true, Kerry's love of soccer might just put him behind with the men too. Just ask Krempasky.
