Of course it can, if one chooses NOT to think!

On "the church":

The church advocates,

1. altruism

2. self-sacrifice

3. collectivism

4. supports statist governments

5. abnegation of rational thought

6. a purpose "higher" than reality

7. the denouncement of pride in one's achievements

8. capitalism as evil

9. property rights as evil

10. Man as evil

11. supporting authority figures for the sake of authority

12. redistribution of wealth

13. need as a claim on other individuals, and

14. taxation

I contend these are not the principles nor the moral doctrine that this country was based on. If it was, it would have been a fine foundation for another Dark Ages, and instead of a Declaration of Independence, we would have had the Declaration of Dependence; in lieu of the Bill of Rights, we would have had the Bill of Needs.

Now, in 1997, we just have Bill.
