To Elwood,

I believe that prior to q1 results, there will a flurry of news similar to what we saw prior to q4. What news? I think that there will be (i) well publicized speculation (generated by various brokerages) that q1 will beat expectations, (ii)announcement of cfo (this one is a bit iffy), (iii) announcements relative to cpq's further steps toward direct model (similar to announcement of inacom deal in december), (iv) news relative to success of ipaq, (v) news relative to market share improvements by cpq in business enterprise sector, (vi) news/speculation that MC's sales number faux pas was indeed a self-serving understatement and consequently sales will in fact meet or beat 15% growth. These factors or any combination of two or more will, imho, serve as the catalyst motivating momentum guys to jump on board. Lets see how many of these actually materialize. Of course momentum investors are, by definition, inclined to bail as soon as there is an absence
of new and exciting news. You can rest assured that I will be considering very seriously whether or not to sell immediately prior to earnings release if there is in fact a move upward prior to release date.
