True- this I know about, and actually the research shows that the figure is actually a little less than the double count. And of course it typically holds for Joe-retail transactions with market makers playing middle man; however, I don't believe huge block trades usually get the double count on a given day. I could easily be wrong, and any light that can be shed would be appreciated.
