According to FT lnkd.in US coal and oil demand are on the rise again in a blow to climate goals and IPCC Fifth Assessment Report report.
As such, all the ink splashed on paper or the internet with all the various reports are fruitless.

All the talk about "carbon neutral" is a fairytale that no one really cares about, and only empty talk, until his home is burned down, he is forced to close its business including due to oceans and seas acidification, or his fishery turns unprofitable due to the die-off of marine creatures, due to oceans warming & pollution by microplastics.
Business the world over is in #BAU mode (business as usual) and apathy prevails in the rat race of the individuals within humanity to make money. It will stop only after the unexpected will indeed happen.
The trigger in my opinion will be the melting of Himalayan and Tibet glaciers and the massive Greenland Glacier and the Gulf Stream slowing to a crawl.
