RIO, EDV, SNAG

Although Rio2 aka RIO has been selling off with the rest of the PM equities of late, the company earned another positive development when WPM released another $50M advance from its PM purchase agreement. The money will be used by RIO to advance the development of the Fenix gold mine in Chile, slated to begin production in January.

Yes, they're on the home stretch...

Although west African gold miners Endeavour Mining aka EDV has been running on rails of late, my main worry has been their exposure to Mali, where an activist government has been causing problems, most notably for Barrick Gold. Since the adoption of a new mining code a few years ago, the Malian government has demanded increased state ownership and has increased taxes. In the most dramatic development, the government sent a helicopter to one of Barrick's mines and confiscated 150 kg of gold. That case is currently in international arbitration.

EDV currently has no production in Mali, but does have a project in Mali called Kalama that was stated to begin construction in about 6 months. Now that EDV and two other companies have signed an MOU with the Malian government regarding their various mines, one presumes that the construction of Kalama will proceed.

No details of the agreement were released.

Silver North Resources aka SNAG announced that a 10-hole drill campaign will begin shortly of their Haldane prospect in the Keno silver district in Yukon. The drilling will follow up on their Main Fault zone discovery last year, which yielded assays as high as 1.83m (true width) @ 1,088 g/t Au and 3.90 g/t Au as well as wider intersections of silver mineralization such as 5.81m (true width) @ 365 g/t Ag and 0.23 g/t Au.

I am disappointed that we still haven't heard the drill results from Tim, but that sometimes happens when you JV a property out to a large company like Coeur.
