There were some reports that Saddam held training camps for people who ended up in the terrorist ranks and; it was unclear early on if there was a relationship between Saddam and Osama. "when he interchanged the names Saddam and Osama thereby convincing 70% of the public that Saddam was involved in or responsible for 911...." No one who was paying attention as things developed thought they were in cahoots but I remember talking to a lot of ignorant people who didn't know the difference between the two, and many thought they were the same person. Bush was not a liar but a lot of people did get the wrong impression because of 911 occurring in the same time frame. The mass media were sleeping on the job, as usual. In any event if you believe the administration was responsible for the public getting the wrong idea then, by not being clear enough on the facts, you should be 10 times as pissed now. You are not, of course.
