Yeah, we had that literacy test down here in the South for the better part of 100 years. It is amazing how a well-trained voting marshal could administer that test in such a way that those of "less intelligence" would not be allowed to vote. Hell, a good marshal could even disqualify well-educated persons. It is easy to use this test to keep foreigners, retarded persons, people whose skin color is not the same as ours, and whacky liberals out of our democratic processes. (We sure miss the good ole days down here, when everyone knew who ran the show. That's was ruined the Democratic party--LBJ supporting the Civil Rights Act. Hell, I had all my civil rights! What more do we want?)

The tax was good, too. It kept the poor people away. All the poor people are stupid and not like us, either. So why should they vote?

By the way, what right do those liberal dems have picking up homeless people, registering them and letting them vote? What right do those people have? Too bad that's not illegal. Hell, if you don't have a car and some means of support, you shouldn't be allowed to vote!
