I believe they removed a fair bit of desktop funtionality when they "lived" the iCloud version, so the two versions would have parity.

Bit by bit they've been replacing the missing bits, but for long time users, the most recent editions will have some drawbacks.

Soon everyone will have a cloud-enabled office suite. Even Microsoft.
