Yeah, I thought of that but they haven't had a loss in ages. I think they made money even during the crash. My guess is it might be new equipment or buildings they were depreciating, perhaps from buying NVLS, over the life of the asset lost value as a deduction as you suggest. I was hoping someone heard the CC or knew for sure to save me looking, if I ever get the time! Lately I've been swamped taking profits, rebalancing, etc. I did a TON of buying emerging markets and foreign back when those markets were way down and now they've soared with the help of the dollar crash so I'm rebalancing to lock in some nice gains.
