Since you have ADHD, copy/paste, see, I did reply: < How about a comment on NZ withdrawing all their personnel (61) from Iraq because it is "too dangerous". I think you have much to much to say about what happens here in the USA.>
<<Anyway, they weren't withdrawn because it was too dangerous. They stayed for their scheduled time and that was it. They weren't there on a never-never plan.
If the UN or NUN wants support for an organized, civilized, international effort, you can bet that the Kiwis will, as always, be there again. The USA has tainted the whole process by not following my suggestions on how to go about dealing with Iraq. Now they have a mess on their hands. I'm happy to give King George II and successors free advice on how to run a railroad, but they haven't called.
Cleaning up a mess is a LOT harder than avoiding the mess in the first place. A stitch in time saves nine pigs from having to put on lipstick >>
Not phony, quite true. Not many Americans could point to it on a globe. When in the USA, if Americans ask where I'm from, most of them are clueless. I still have to get the map out to find some bigger countries than NZ and I enjoy knowing stuff like that.
Hmm, maybe you mean they were withdrawn because of danger. That would be a factor in providing further support and it certainly affected what they did there - they, like the USA troops, adopted hunkered-down mode. But it didn't affect the timing of their withdrawal. They gave up the idea of wandering the streets, doing good works, accepting flowers and girlfriends, gifts and smiling faces.
